Book review – Diana: her true story

My first book of 2021 was Diana: Her True Story – in her own words – the 25th-anniversary edition. The royal family fascinates me and I have just watched season 4 of the crown, so I thought it was a good time to learn a bit more about the people’s princess.

The book is in 3 parts. First is the transcripts from parts of Diana’s interviews. The second part is the original book. The last part is a follow-up from the author.

While I found the book extremely interesting, I found that, when reading the actual book, it was all over the place. Chapters were in the order of events in her life, but within the chapters, the author was all over the place. Not only did he make it confusing jumping from topic to topic, but he was also repetitive. He would mention something over and over again throughout the book like we hadn’t already read it.

I would give the book a 2.5/3 out of 5. I would say it’s worth a read if you’re interested in the ins and outs of the royal family, but I wouldn’t rush to read it.
