I won’t sugarcoat it, going to Chilliwack is a trek from Vancouver, or for us, Metro Vancouver. But on a nice day, the drive is quite beautiful.
My nan’s favourite flower was a sunflower and growing up I used to call them “nanny flowers”. After losing her earlier this year, I knew I wanted to finally go out and check out the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival.
They made a few changes this year for Covid, meaning you needed to buy tickets online for a time slot to limit the number of people in the fields. There are also so many cute photo-ops along the fields that have time-limits and hand sanitizer for before and after your photos.
Tickets for the weekend were $20 each but so worth it. There is so much to walk through and see. It’s absolutely beautiful. The plus side of the time slots meant it wasn’t busy and you could stop to take photos everywhere.
We stayed for just over an hour, and honestly, we could have stayed all day. There is a little shop, where we bought a planted sunflower to bring home, ice-cream stands, and a food truck if you get hungry.
If you are around the area, I highly recommend checking out the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival running now until September 7!
Lovely photos! Love Chilliwack area!
So pretty!
