Chris and I were not prepared this year and were only able to attend the last two nights of Dine Out Vancouver. Last year we really like the atmosphere of the Parq casino in Vancouver when we visited Honey Salt, so we chose another restaurant in there again. This year we chose BC Kitchen. To get to this restaurant you have to walk through the casino, so it’s 19+.
BC Kitchen has an upscaled sports bar kind of feeling. We were seated really quickly and it didn’t take long for our waitress to take our order. It didn’t take out drinks long to arrive, however, our waitress thought it took too long so our first round of drinks was comped. I had ordered the Gin Refresher that had gin, peach schnapps and orange.

The Dine Out menu had some great options for food. For a starter, I ordered the Farmer’s salad and Chris ordered the cheesy beer soup. My salad was full of apples, goat cheese and cranberries. It was delicious. Chris’s soup had a great depth of flavour, but the winner on his plate was the perfectly done pretzel bun.

For our entrees, I ordered the burger and fries, and Chris ordered the mushroom pizza with truffle oil. The size of my burger was unreal. It was so big I had to give half to Chris. The special sauce on it though was to die for. Chris’ pizza had a nice earthy flavour, but it was quite rich with the truffle oil. I would recommend that pizza as a starter for a few people.

Lastly, for dessert, we couldn’t decide so we ordered one of each. The cake was so good but very sweet, I wasn’t able to have very much of it. As for the sundae, the crumble on top reminded me of a crunchie bar. It was definitely my favourite.
As we were leaving, we saw different entrees and starters go past us that we would have loved to have tried. We will definitely be making another stop at this restaurant.
