Glowbal Group in Vancouver has a range of restaurants that feel high-end, but also very casual. Chris and I are slowly making our way through all the different restaurants. This time we went to try Black and Blue Steakhouse.
We were seated by the window, which was great for people watching. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by our waitress. After asking if we had visited the restaurant before, she quickly disappeared and came back with a plate of different cuts of beef. She explained each cut and the best way to have it cooked if we were ordering steaks.
Not sure what we wanted, we took a few minutes to look at the menu. Chris and I had made it just for the end of happy hour, so we ordered some drinks, wine for me, beer for Chris, as well as two appetisers.
As usual, we ordered oysters, as well as a Wagyu Beef plate. The beef came out first. It was dressed with cheese, horseradish, greens and bread. The Wagyu beef was raw and sliced so thinly. It was delicious.
After the steak came the oysters. We ordered three each. They came with a side of two different sauces and lemon. Some oysters you order taste like the ocean, these did not. They were great.
For our main course, I ordered the Ahi Tuna steak with vegetables, while Chris ordered the Beef Wellington. The tuna was so soft and melted in your mouth. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time.
The food was so rich, and there was so much of it, we weren’t able to order dessert; even though they sounded amazing, and some were prepared tableside.
I highly recommend any Glowbal Group restaurant, but Black and Blue Steakhouse is so far my favourite.
