Even though our wedding is just under two years away, I am so excited! The venue is booked, our date is booked, and now, I’VE GOT MY WEDDING DRESS!
When you get engaged, trying on wedding dresses is definitely the first thing you want to do. I had been trying to put it off but ended up going to a few different places to get some ideas.
My best friend Karleigh and I went to Champagne and Lace in Abbotsford to try on some dresses, since they really do have the best selection. It also helped that Karleigh got her wedding dress here as well.
As soon as we got to our appointment, I told my consultant, Olivia, exactly what my vision was and what I would be comfortable paying. She was amazing. She took what I pictured and grabbed, like, 20 dresses that I would probably love. She was right.
She put me in the very first dress, and my heart stopped. I fell in love. I didn’t care about any other dresses, I didn’t want to take this one off. I knew I wasn’t completely ready to pick my dress, especially since my mom wasn’t there to share the day with me. So I humoured everyone and tried more.
All the dresses were gorgeous. Exactly my taste and what I envisioned, but as I kept trying more and more dresses on, I kept going back to the first one.
Olivia was great and understood how I felt. She let me put the first dress on three more times. By the end, my heart was set on this dress, the only thing holding me back was the price, and the fact my mom hadn’t seen it on me, and didn’t help me pick it. While it was in my price range, it was at the very top.
Olivia informed me that it since it was my first appointment, if I left with the dress that day, I would receive 10% off. That would be a huge help to my bank account. I think it’s a great discount to give out to brides who need help making that decision.
The second issue was the fact I was not sharing this moment with my mom. Thank god for iPhones and FaceTime. Karleigh and I called my mom relentlessly, not realising she was driving, sorry mom, before we finally got a hold of her. While it wasn’t as good as having her there holding my hand, it was nice that she was still apart of my big decision.
With the help and support of everyone, I decided to buy my dress! The staff at Champagne and Lace were so understanding about the fact I really needed my mom there, that they let me make an appointment to come back and try it on just for her, knowing that I’ve already bought my dress.
I can’t say enough about Champagne and Lace. This is not a sponsored post, I just really fell in love there. They have a fantastic selection of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride dresses and even prom dresses. They are your one-stop shop for everything you need, and they should always be your first choice.
I am so excited that I now have the dress of my dreams! I can’t wait to walk down the aisle with it!
