J-Girls’ Trip to Whistler

Last weekend the ‘J-Girls’ and I embarked on our annual girls’ getaway. Last year it was a low-key weekend trip to Mayne Island, this year the ladies and I were taking over Whistler.
We took two separate cars. One left early in the morning, carrying three of the crew, while I drove up later in the afternoon, with two of the other girls.
We arrived at the Pan Pacific Whistler Village to find our king suite, with an amazing view of the mountains. We settled in, Laura and I in the king room, with our own bathroom, Sarah and Amy in the queen room while Cassidy and Kat would share the pullout couch.
The six of us caught up and filled each other in on our days before deciding it was time to get all glammed up for cocktails before dinner. I wore my Primark dress with nude Payless heels. We all looked great if I do say so myself, as we walked the short trip through the village to Bar Oso. I ordered myself a peach sangria and decided half way through my drink, it was time for tequila shots.
After about an hour, and with a very strong buzz, we were off through the village again to make our dinner reservation. We had booked a table at Basalt Wine and Salumeria. There was a great deal on three-course meals, so how could we say no?
I ordered the kale caesar to start, followed by the steak with potatoes and finished with the ice cream cookie sandwich. The food was delicious.
The six of us woke up early, feeling surprisingly good from the night before. We made our way down to the breakfast room, which was provided by the hotel. I stuffed my face with waffles, croissants, bagels and fruit, planning for a long day ahead.
After we ate, we thought we would walk around the village, meandering in and out of the shops before heading to the spa for the day.
To celebrate Laura’s birthday early, we treated her to a massage while we were visiting Scandanive Spa. While four of us were getting massages at 5 pm, we still wanted to enjoy all the spa had to offer, so we arrived around 1 pm.
The spa was great. No talking, no cell phones, no tablets. You could really disconnect from everything and relax.
The spa consists of warm pools, cold pools, saunas and steam rooms, as well as ample outdoor lounge chairs. You are supposed to rotate between hot, cold and relaxation as it is great for your body.
After a full day of relaxation and a massage, I had never felt better. After our spa day, we decided to have a night in at the hotel, ordering pizza, drinking wine and using the hotel pool and hot tub.
It was sadly checkout day, but our trip was far from over. Amy’s birthday was the previous month so we had bought her the opportunity to go bungee jumping in Whistler. Laura, Sarah and Kat also wanted in, so they all decided to tandem jump, while Cassidy and I took the photos and videos.
The view at Whistler Bungee is unreal. It was so much fun to watch everyone jump and see how elated they were afterwards.
After the jump, it was time for us to go our separate ways.
It was such a fun girls’ trip, and I am already looking forward to next year.
