Celebrating 4 Years

Spending 4 years with someone, and still liking them, is a huge accomplishment. Chris and I celebrated this milestone on May 12th. I am so lucky that I am able to explore the world, hang out in our sweatpants and try new things with this man.
For our four year anniversary, we decided to plan a little “staycation” in Downtown Vancouver. We booked the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel, with a city view, and decided to hang out in the city all day.
After we checked in we were starving so decided to head to Cafe Crepe for a quick bite. I had the Nutella banana crepe, with a mimosa, while Chris had the strawberry cheesecake crepe with a vodka soda.
After lunch, we did a little bit of shopping before dropping our stuff off back at the hotel. We quickly changed our shoes into something more comfortable, then walked along the harbour-front before dinner.
For our date night I decided to wear my black New Look bodysuit, with my high-waisted black Topshop jeans, topped off with a casual floral blazer from Primark. I also bought a brand new pink lipstick from Sephora earlier in the day, so I put that on as well.
Chris had made reservations for Joe Fortes, somewhere neither of us had tried before. We were both looking forward to having some of the most talked about food in the city.
When we arrived, we were seated upstairs, past the piano player on the stairs. We studied the menus before ordering a bottle of wine, oysters to try, mac and cheese, clam chowders AND our meals. Yeah, we went a bit over the top, but it was so worth it. Chris ordered the peppercorn tuna for his main and I ordered the seafood linguine. Before any of our food had arrived, we were served complimentary bread with lobster oil and balsamic vinegar. It was so good that they even have the lobster oil on the menu for you to buy.
I can’t tell you enough how amazing the food was here. Every bite was like heaven. While our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, we packed up what we couldn’t eat for lunch the next day.
I would recommend trying Joe Fortes for lunch or dinner, but try to make a reservation, as it is always busy.
I can’t wait to come back here and try more things off the menu.
