Las Vegas – Day One

To start off my birthday celebrations, Chris and I decided to spend a weekend in Las Vegas. Last year we stayed at the Rio, which is just off the strip. This time we wanted to be right in the middle of the action. We ended up staying at Bally’s, which is smack dab in the middle of everything.

We arrived in Vegas at noon and went straight to our hotel. Instead of waiting around with our bags for four hours to check in, the hotel was great and let us check in early. Chris and I were on the 62nd floor with a view of the strip. It was incredible.

To enjoy the weather, we went straight out to the strip and down to Caesar’s Palace to check out the shops. I had to find a dress to wear to an upcoming wedding, so we decided to get the shopping out of the way.

I was quite lucky and found a dress right away. By this time Chris and I were getting hungry so we ended up at The Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Instead of ordering our own meals, we ordered a few appies to share. Our intention was to order cheesecake for dessert, but we were so full from our wings, deep fried mac and cheese, and nachos, we opted out. Instead, we walked over to Fat Tuesdays where we ordered a yard of Bellini.

After the shops, we walked back to our hotel to have a quick nap. A quick nap turned into a few hours. We had one more stop to make – M&M’s World. We walked down to the shop quickly then headed back to the hotel. By this time, we were ready to continue drinking. We popped open our huge bottle of wine, blasted some ’90’s and drank in our room. Once we were done we wandered down to the casino where we did a little bit of gambling. We ended up leaving up on what we bet, so we decided to call it a night because we had a lot planned the next day.
