Chopping It Off

I was always told I had beautiful, healthy, long hair. I knew I was lucky that it grew so fast, which made me fearless to try a new look. For the longest time I have donned long, dark brown hair. With all the changes happening in my life right now, I figured my hair could use an update as well.

I have loved the lob (long bob) for a long time, but never had the courage to chop my hair off. On a whim, I booked an appointment, the hair was coming off. With summer in full swing, and knowing my hair grows back quickly, I thought why not.
I couldn’t just cut it off and not colour it either. I have been loving the balayage look for the summer. Its a mix between highlights and ombre. I have an olive skin tone and darker hair, so I personally don’t think blonde is a great choice for me. I chose to go a light caramel colour to lighten up my look a little bit.
The day quickly came and was happily welcomed. All in all, my hair took about 2 hours and lost over 6 inches of length. My hair dresser added longer layers, so that it would be easier for me to pull off that beachy wave look, my favourite for summer time.
When I was finally done, I couldn’t have been more pleased with the finished product. I am so happy that I went through with it.
Summer is a time for change. Many people eat better, spend more time outdoors, and change their looks. I think my life changes couldn’t have come at a better time. If anyone is thinking about drastically changing their look, they should go for it, as I couldn’t be more pleased with mine.
