Big Feast Bistro

My friend Jessica has raved about a local restaurant, Big Feast Bistro, for years. She has been many times, however I haven’t been once. Jessica got home from Nova Scotia (where she just graduated university – congrats girl) and we definitely had reason to celebrate.

Big Feast Bistro is in the middle of two main roads in Maple Ridge. The location is kind of hidden, however that does not detract from business. With seating inside and out, the restaurant has recently expanded to add additional seating inside.

I decided to wear my new Primark liquid leggings, with my black H&M sweater, Primark booties, and a long grey vest coat, also from Primark.

Walking inside, it had a very warm feel. It felt homey and unique, like you were welcome right away. We were seated right away, which Jessica said usually never happens. We were both starving so we studied the menu intently.

The menu featured food that was either grown locally or completely organic. It is no wonder that this place was featured on the food network show, You’ve Got To Eat Here.

With so much to choose from it was hard to decide. I chose a chicken pesto sandwich with a goat cheese, pecan salad. Jessica ordered a butternut squash soup, homemade bread and an Asian tofu slaw salad.

I was impressed, the food didn’t take very long. I was also impressed by the portion size. Usually if you order a sandwich and salad, you expect to finish it and be full. With this sandwich and salad, I could barely finish it and I was stuffed! It was both visually pleasing and appetizing. You could tell that every ingredient that was used was of the highest standard and quality.

I left the restaurant wanting to go back right away. I have heard that the breakfast is just as good as, if not better than, the lunch. I have plans to go back for breakfast already. Stay tuned for a review of my brunch coming soon…
