How to Beat a Winter Cold

This is the time of year where nearly everyone gets sick. No matter how hard you try not to, the inevitable eventually comes. I was trying to fight it, but I too was plagued with this terrible cold going around.

It started when I was babysitting my siblings last weekend. My brother came over with the sniffles, sneezes and a cough. He was just too cute not to cuddle when he was feeling so sick.

A week had passed and I thought I was in the clear. I went to work, went to girl’s night and then Saturday morning, I thought I was dying. My head felt like a hot air balloon, my throat felt like knives and my body felt like I had just done a three hour boot camp session. I could no longer fight it, I had a cold.

I immediately took action. I infused myself with lots of water, juice and soup. I then went to my medicine cabinet to find out I didn’t have much in. I realized I had to go out.

When you’re sick, going out is the last thing you want to do. I chose my most comfortable clothes. I paired my Lululemon leggings with my loose knit cabin sweater from The Rio Boutique. I added my tall quilted boots and my gold triangle necklaces to look a bit more put together.

I went out feeling as comfortable as I did in my bed, stocking up on medicine to help me get well. While medicine helps, so does a good attitude.

I find when I feel put together, I feel better. Being comfortable, but looking put together, when you’re sick, definitely helps.
