Jerry Sulina Park – Maple Ridge, B.C.

My favourite thing about winter is sunny, crisp days. These days are great for scenic walks. You can bundle up in  many layers, so you keep warm, but the crispness of the air still bites at your cheeks and nose.

As a part of a ‘New Year, New Me’ kind of deal, Chris and I are planning on going on a long walk at least once a week. On crisp, foggy days, Jerry Sulina park trail along the dikes in Maple Ridge, is one of the best places to take a long walk.

Our first walk was at the beginning of the week. It was so foggy and icy, it looked like it just snowed. I wore my Old Navy vest (similar) and black skinny jeans, with my Lululemon grey scuba hoodie (similar). Even though I was toasty warm, I also had a nice hot Starbucks drink in my hand.

In total, we walked over 5km. We took in the scenery, talked about anything and everything and enjoyed each other’s company. Crisp winter days are great for sitting in and watching Netflix, but I enjoy them much more outside.

What is your favourite thing to do on a crisp, winter day?
