I really enjoyed sharing my first makeup post with all of you, so I thought I would post one again. This time, however, I am going to focus on a look for Holiday parties.
‘Tis the season for holiday gatherings and Christmas parties, so this is my go to look. I set my base make-up the same as I did in my first post. I used my Makeup Forever primer, my Sephora concealer and my Laura Mercier powder foundation.
To then add a bit of colour in my face I topped off my foundation with Benefit Colarlista blush and Hula bronzer.
I’ve always been told that when doing your makeup, you should always focus on one feature. For parties I like to play up my eyes. For this I used my Urban Decay Urban Vices palette which I received as a gift from Sephora. This palette is great for a dramatic smokey eye. Instead of using the eyeliner that came with the Urban Vices kit, I used the eyeliner from my Ipsy bag by Be a Bombshell Cosmetics in Wild Child. While I liked the colour of the eyeliner, I found that it didn’t go on very smoothly.
I next used my Benefit BADgal Lash mascara and my Sephora eyebrow kit to give me fuller brows.
To finish off my makeup, I added lipstick. This is a natural minerals lipstick by Pacifica. While I liked the colour, Nudie Red, I found that the lipstick itself felt a bit dry.
The finishing touches to any holiday look is your hair. I chose to keep it simple my having a loose french braid and a statement headband. There was a Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut Oil deep conditioning treatment found in my Ipsy bag. After I shampooed my hair I left the conditioner in for five minutes. After rinsing it and blow-drying my hair, I felt the results of the conditioner. My hair would never felt so soft! I highly recommend this brand.
One of the last things I had to try from my glam bag was the nail polish by Formula X . I wanted to add a little bit of sparkle to complete my look. The colour is called Revved Up. It is a gold with a hint of sparkle. I liked the consistency of the nail polish and found it was hard to chip. I will definitely be buying more of this nail polish.
I look forward to using this look for the holidays. What is your favourite holiday look?
