Kanaka Creek Regional Park, Maple Ridge

As I get ready to leave my hometown of Maple Ridge behind, I have a mix of emotions. I am more than excited to leave the city and see what a new one has to offer. However, I am going to miss the perks Maple Ridge has to offer.

On a rainy day, my boyfriend Chris, my best friend Karleigh and I decided to take a walk through the trails of Kanaka Creek Regional Park. While most of the trail is open, we decided to take the trail that has plenty of tree cover. Because it’s along the Fraser River, the walk brings phenomenal views.

The walk, that we decided to end after an hour, could provide a few hours more. We didn’t really plan ahead and started to get hungry, so we left for lunch. However, if you wanted to spend most of your day here, there are picnic benches set up throughout the trails.

Although Maple Ridge won’t be a far drive from my new residence, the feeling of having nature right in my backyard will be missed. Maple Ridge does have many spectacular trails and views which I urge you to explore.
