The one thing I miss the most when I am abroad is the beautiful nature and scenery that British Columbia has to offer. Since I’ve been home, I have been experiencing the outdoors daily, taking in what I have missed while I was away.
Thursday was my last day off before going back to work (3 months off was a fantastic break). I wanted to take advantage of this so I planned the day to be as stress free as possible. Of course though, things never go to plan.
My friend, and fellow blogger, Laura Collins and I decided to get up early and get back into yoga. I dressed myself from head to toe in lululemon and made my way to my car. I packed everything in and started it. Except, well, it didn’t start. I tried multiple times before finding a lovely construction worker across the street to jump my car for me. By this time I was late for yoga and had to cancel on Laura.
To charge up my battery I drove around Maple Ridge for an hour. I then went back home and got dressed to go into Mission, where I was getting my nails done and meeting my best friend Karleigh. I threw on my American Eagle black jeggings, paired with a white tank top embellished with daisies. To add some finishing touches I added my Primark necklace, a grey, black and white over sized cardigan from h&m, and my New Look cut out ankle booties.
After I got my nails done, I met Karleigh to experience the beautiful outdoors of Mission (and meet her brand new puppy Dexter). I arrived to her house and quickly changed to be more comfortable on a walk. I put on my Primark zip-up hoodie, my lululemon top and leggings. And of course, I added my Primark runners.
We drove to Silverdale Creek Wetlands. Here you can walk a loop and enjoy views. You walk along a gravel path past the creek, and the pond. If you’re lucky you may even catch a glimpse of some animals. We had the puppy with us (that wanted to sniff absolutely everything) so our walk was slow paced, however, it was nice to take everything in.
If you are looking for somewhere scenic to go for a walk, a jog, or just take some time in nature, this is the place to do it.
